A combination shawl and scarf is a versatile option. I bought a really pretty one as a birthday gift for one of my best friends.
It was made of a silk blend, and had a raised flowery pattern. Folded over twice it made a great scarf for braving the elements. When not folded, though, it made an attractive shawl that could be used for a romantic evening out with her boyfriend.
"What a cool gift--I love it!" she raved when she first opened the package.
And I have a beautiful velvet-like shawl and scarf combination that I found shopping one day. I love it! It has a contemporary fushia, navy blue and black flower design, and a fringe made of shiney black beaded tassels.
I get compliments on it just about every time I wear it. And its versatility makes for a wonderful gift!
